Welcome to the second newsletter for Edition Zero Gravel.
If you are reading this and would like to know where Newsletter 1 is, please check it out here (It does include the GPX files for your navigation)
This week, let's talk car parking, event registration and expo, prize giving, the gathering afterwards and of course - keeping you safe on course!
Carparking: It is really important that everyone is respectful of the neighbourhood we are in, especially for the Mains riders who are arriving at the Velodrome early in the morning.
Mains Riders: Please DO NOT Park on the following streets! (Yellow areas on the Map)
Naylor St
Tennant St
Shearman St
Please DO park on Hillary or Queen Streets.

Remember to move about quietly and keep the conversations down, yes, we are excited at 5am in the morning, but the neighbourhood will still be very much asleep!
Event Registration:
Kicking off at the Velodrome Village, Rego will be out in the middle of the Expo this year. The Expo will be packing up from 7pm but rego closes at 8pm and there is no Mains Registration on Saturday.
Saturday Rego opens from 7am.
The Village + Expo
At the same time as Rego on Friday the village will be alive, we are thankful to have some of the very best in cycling brands joining in the adventure of EZG. They will be there showcasing some of the latest, greatest and localist kit in the cycling world, come and have a meander, spin a yarn and make a friend or two.
While there you can fill your carbo needs thanks to The Chippy - serving the best in Fish and Chips with a British twist, supported by the Lighthouse Brewery.
On Saturday the village will be alive from about 11:00am through until 6pm - helping you refresh, recharge and celebrate a great day on your bike. Coffee is arriving around 7am thanks to Vanessa at Waitaki Bean.
Prize giving: Starts at 5pm. If you think you have got a placing, please bring your number plate.
If you are not at prize giving, you will not be able to claim your prizes.
After Party: This year we are very excited to be hosted by the fine folk at The Waimate Kitchen and Bar. For one night only, "Strings Attached" will be playing from 7pm, with a special EZG Burger deal from 6pm.
KOM Challenge:
Once again, if you are riding the Mains, there is the officially named Strava segment on Parkers Bush Rd that will be timed via Strava. There will be prizes for the KOM and QOM, the segment will also be signposted.
To qualify, your ride will need to be public on Strava by prize giving.
Rubbish:
Please discard your rubbish into the rubbish bins at the aid stations or finish line - not anywhere else. Especially do not drop your rubbish out on course. If you are observed littering, you will not get a finishing time. This is an adventure, that means we leave no trace.
Keeping safe on course:
All roads are open and this means you are to expect other traffic at all times. Keeping left and following all road signs and rules is the name of the game. Make sensible decisions and look after each other.
Make sure you have packed your emergency blanket that is big enough for you to shelter in. We will have some available for purchase at the Expo.
The Tail End Charlies are there to help you and keep you on track with your progress around the course. Cut offs will be strictly enforced this year, please respect the aid station and event staff who are just intending to keep you safe.
If you need to withdraw, please let the Tail End Charlie or the aid station know. Please do not abandon course without notifying a crew member.
In the mean time, we hope your taper has begun and you have not over trained.

We are off for a full course inspection this weekend - watch this space for some detailed gravel assessment.
Thanks for being here
Andy + Sandra
